Does Twitter Reach The Right Homebuyers?
Thanks to a recent graph provided by Silicon Alley Insider, we can learn about some interesting insights about the audiences currently utilizing Twitter.

In evaluating this graph, we notice people using Twitter under 25 years of age has increased by over 14% over the course of last year, thus increasing this age bracket’s total Twitter utilization to approximately 30%. The reason for this most likely has to do with the numerous celebrities embracing it (Ashton Kutcher, Brittney Spears, Kim Kardashian, etc.) as well as all the mentions it receives from various media outlets.
In addition, Twitter has also expanded their micro-blogging service to cover countries such as Japan, Indonesia, and more.
How This Can Effect Your Branding
With many first-time homebuyers being under the age of 25, real estate professionals have an excellent opportunity to use Twitter to attract people in this demographic. In addition, Twitter’s expansion to other countries provides the opportunity to connect with people who may be interested in relocating to your area. Seeing that Twitter has almost reached 10 billion tweets, you just never know who you may meet…
In short, Twitter is an excellent tool to help you generate business, if used properly. Just keep in mind though; Twitter is just a tool. It is no magic bullet that will automatically provide you with targeted leads. Just like other social media services, you need to first develop relationships before you can market to people using these services.
