If you haven’t already seen the first article on various ways to add value to your kitchen, you can check it our here.  This article will continue where the other one left off at provide you with some more ways to utilize your kitchen and make your home more valuable.

  1. Add a fresh coat of paint: Nothing helps brighten up a kitchen like a fresh coat of paint!  Put some new coats of paint on the walls of your kitchen.  If your kitchen really doesn’t have any wall space, consider applying fresh coats of paint to your cabinets. Just remember to keep the colors neutral!
  2. Think storage: If your kitchen is cluttered, think about incorporating space-saving ideas such as built-in kitchen appliances and organizational cabinets.
  3. Install granite counter tops: Granite has been known to improve kitchens both from a usability and design standpoint.  If granite is out of your budget, consider other types of stone for your counter tops.
  4. Replace kitchen cabinet hardware: One great way to make your kitchen look nicer is doing something as simple as replacing the hardware on your kitchen cabinets. This helps brighten up your kitchen as well as make it look updated.
  5. Install heated flooring: If you are not interested in hardwood alternatives to flooring, a great selling point is to install heating to prevent your tile or stone floors from being cold.
  6. Create a herb pantry: Similar to a pantry in general, this is a great little addition to enhance the design of a kitchen. The great thing is it can be as simple as a “hole in the wall” design or extravagant with glass doors and the works!  Either way, having a herb pantry is something all cooks can enjoy.
  7. Modernize the kitchen: Buyers are not interested in living in a kitchen that was styled for the 60′s.  If you have any cabinets, cupboards, or anything that is ancient in their design, consider replacing them.
  8. Replace the faucet: Being one of the focal points of a kitchen, faucets can have a large impact on its looks.  If your faucet is outdated, consider getting a new, stylish alternative.
  9. Organize and clean cabinets and pantry: Something as simple as cleaning and organization can really open up a buyers eyes to see how much space they really have in your kitchen.
  10. Just remodel the whole kitchen: If you have the budget, then there is always the option of going all out and doing a complete remodel of the kitchen!
